Thank The Stars

I have always been either flying or falling, and often not knowing which, but I am sure this is the true method of my accomplishments in my life:

1.) Jump.
2.) Build wings on the way down.

‘My New Assignment’ is a semi-private blog of my transition male 2 female. Today, I feel like I am flying.

For me, there is no mystery or oddness surrounding gender transition. I’m not trying to be snobby or exclusionary, elitist etc… but I have always had a more European take on things, for whatever reason, and thank the stars (leave the stripes). I grew up in d’Urbanville, Ontario (Hamilton, Windsor, Toronto) and have learned over the years that I feel more at home in urban places in Europe (although NYC has a def piece of my heart too).

This is  me, female,  as I was and as I am now – the transition is about changing some very unfortunate testosterone effects. To me, gender is an assignment; a mode of male or female assigned by parents, siblings, peers, teachers, and society at large for the purpose of getting on with things, the industrial military complex, et al.

This is My New Assignment.

It took a long time to find myself, because I suffered trauma due to child abuse. The result of abuse has meant confusion and loss for many years, all years which again must be understood in retrospect. I spent much of my life in a disassociative state – as a traumatized child I ‘checked out’  from reality –  my body was there, going through the motions, but the essence of me was gone.

But I’m back now

I’ll probably make the occasional public post here, but the pages are private – background info that I want to put online for friends and relatives.

Best of luck on your journey, Bree.
